Thumbnail Orchid (Dockrillia linguiformis)

The Thumbnail Orchid clings to rocks and tree trunks supported by many small roots.

The thick fleshy leaves are fleshy and dark green. They can be grooved or smooth.

Sprays of small fragrant, white flowers in spring make a wonderful display.

The Thumbnail Orchid is widespread and common, found from northern Qld to southern NSW. It can be found in rainforest gullies, rock faces as well as open forest.

The Thumbnail Orchid is also known as the Tongue Orchid.
