Fringe Lily (Thysanotus tuberosus)

The Fringe Lily is a straggling perennial herb growing to around 50cm long. The flowers have three purple petals having frilly edges.

While each flower only lasts for a day the plant has a much longer flowering period, producing a series of flowers right through the flowering period. Flowers can sometimes be seen outside the flowering period

Widespread and commonly found growing in open forest and woodland.

The Fringe Lily plant does not attract attention until it flowers. The bright, unusual flowers immediately make it noticeable.
