Christmas Bush (Ceratopetalum gummiferum)

The Christmas Bush is a beautiful small tree with lots of white flowers.

After pollination the sepals enlarge and turn pink to red giving the Christmas Bush the colour for which it is famous.

Widespread and commonly found growing in forest and woodland. It prefers sheltered areas with sandy soil. In damper areas, especially in gullies it can be a small tree.

October to November with red sepal in December and January. The red sepals can still be seen in February in the upper mountains.
