Valley Of The Kings

The Valley of the Kings is a deep gorge formed by a tributary flowing into Genowlan Creek. Huge pagodas adorn the cliff tops of the gorge.

The Valley of the Kings was named by Dr Haydn Washington in 1984.

Access through the gorge is limited by a series of waterfalls at the southern end. Entry is from the northern end of the gorge, a slot just south of The Sphinx and a gully at the south-eastern end just downstream of the first waterfall.

Beautiful tree ferns and thick forest grow in the gorge. The small creek has carved deep overhangs under the cliffs.

It's a lovely spot well worth the effort to get to.
