Banks Wall

Banks Wall is the western escarpment of Mt Banks, stretching north from Frank Hurley Head to Banks Gully for 2 kilometres. In places the cliffs are 510 metres high, the highest on mainland Australia.

It is possible to walk along the middle ledge in either direction. The walk is known as 'The Traverse of the Gods'.

One section named 'The Devils Throat' is very narrow and quite exposed. Care and a good head for heights is needed here.

There are wonderful views from many vantage points along the way.
