Airly Aerial Cableway

The cableway at Airly runs from a point near the winding engine and boiler, south, up the steep slope and past the cliff line to the plateau above.

Relics from the cableway at the cliff top include a large wheel, rollers, brackets, tram track and gondola ends.

There are a number of cables running the length of the cableway. These include the bearer and 4 smaller cables.

In places the cables have eroded gaps in the rocks they pass.

The reason for the cableway is unknown. There was a well built tram way or road behind the relics as well as evidence of mining activity.
