The Red-bellied Black Snake is a large glossy black elapid snake with a distinct red to pink belly. The red markings extend up the sides of the body.

Found along the along the east coast and adjacent inland, usually associated with moist areas like swamps, creeks and forests.

The Red-bellied Black Sanke is dangerously venemous and should be left alone. It feeds on frogs, mice, lizards and other small animals
