Pink-tongued Skink (Cyclodomorphus gerrardii)

The Pink-Tongued Skink is large lizard with well developed limbs, digits & a long tail. Adults have a pink tongue although juveniles' tongues are blue.

These lizards are found from Cairns in Queensland south to Springwood in New South Wales. They live in a range of environments but prefer moist conditions.

Diurnal & nocturnal. Can climb trees. When moving quickly down hill they can tuck their back legs in against their tails & glide across the surface.
