Pacific Gull

The Pacific Gull is a large gull. It has a white body, black back and black wings. There is a narrow strip of white on the trailing edge of the wing.

It has a powerful yellow bill with a bright red tip.

Pacific Gulls are often seen in pairs, foraging between the the high and low water marks and in shallow waters on sandy beaches.

Tasmanian and southern mainland Australian coastlines

Pacific Gulls feed on molluscs, fish and crustaceans they catch. They drop molluscs on rocks to crack them open to get at the animal inside.
