Brown Antechinus (Antechinus stuartii)

The Brown Antechinus is a small carnivorous marsupial mammal.

The Brown Antechinus is found in forests in south eastern Australia, preferring areas with thick cover and logs.

Usually nocturnal but can be active during the day. Can climb trees. It hunts beetles, spiders and cockroaches but will take other arthropods if available. Each year all the Brown Antechinus males die after a short but extremely aggressive & stressful breeding season.ht
