Tesselated Pavement

Map: LPI Wollongambe 89312S GR: 651 955 Track Notes: Comments: The Tesselated Pavements can be found on a series of rock platforms just north of Telsselate Hill and Mt Irvine. It isn't unusal to see sedimentory rocks with tessalation patterns like these. It is very unusual to see such a large area. After rain, water collects in the hollows, reservoirs that might support the plants and animals until the next fall. Some of the hollows have Grinding Grooves and Pots, evidence of Aboriginal occupation in the area.
