Shamash Point

Map: Yerranderie 89294N GR: 298 316 Track Notes: Comments: Shamash Point is a large rock shelf at the south-western corner of Mt Barrallier. It is marked on the Kowmung map but not on the LPI Yerranderie map. There are excellent views across Shamash Deep to the Boyd Range, up Wheengee-Whungee Creek to Moxley Rock as well as Heliolater Point. Thick heath makes any approach to Shamash Point extremely difficult but it can be done. The views are worth the effort. Dunphy used a 'Sun God' theme when naming some places on Mt Barrallier:
