Headless Rider Point

Map: Kanangra 89303S GR: 334 348 Comments: Headless Rider Point is at the southern tip of Seymour Top. According to stories told by early cattlemen who camped on Seymour Top, they would see a white horse with a headless rider would gallop up the First Ascent Pass, miss the sharp turn to the west & plunge over the cliff into the gorge. Thick heath makes Headless Rider Point is difficult to get to across Seymour Top however it is fairly easy to walk around under the cliff line from Murdering Gully. There is a chari shaped rock at Heradless Rider Point with a view Thomas Seymour described as 'one of the greatest sites of his life'. |
