Maps: LPI Mt Wilson 89301N GR: 570 796 - 623 817 Track Notes: Comments: Explorers Brook rises in the ridges to the south of Mt Banks & flows north east to Carmarthen Brook, 8 kilometres away. The creek has eroded a deep & continuous canyon. Walking along the creek is very pleasant. Huge sassafras & coachwood trees tower above with decaying vegetation & fungus underneath. Large colourful crayfish are everywhere, even on dry land. Rocks are thickly covered with green moss & there are many tranquil pools. Canyon walls mean there aren't many entry or exit points into the Explorers Brook Canyon. |
