To make access between Narrow Neck Plateau & the Wild Dog Mountains easier for bushwalkers, Walter Tarr placed a bush ladder down a crack at the end of Narrow Neck in the early 1930s.

The structure became known as Tarro's Ladder.

Tarro's Ladder was replaced with iron spikes in 1940 after the original ladder was destroyed by fire in 1939.
