Thomas Seymour's First Ascent Plaque

Map: Kanangra 89303S Comments: Thomas Seymour located a pass through the eastern cliff line of Seymour Top in 1864 while hunting wild cattle. Seymour was probably the first white man onto Kanangra Tops. On a subsequent visit to Seymour Top in 1868 he engraved 'YEAR 1868' on a rock slab at the top of the pass. A plaque commemorating Thomas Seymour's exploits was erected on Seymour Top in 1934. |
