Genus:  Morelia

Description:  The Diamond Python is a large non-venomous snake. It is usually yellow with a tight pattern of black spots & larger yellow spots on black, roughly diamond in shape. 

Distribution:  The Diamond Python is found throughout eastern New South Wales & southern Queensland. 

Comments:  Diurnal & nocturnal. Terrestrial & aboreal.  Catches & eats mammals, birds, other reptiles & amphibians. Can be seen basking in the sun.
