Comments:

High above the Ten Tunnel Deviation a pagoda has been 'made safe' by supporting a large overhang with 8 brick columns.

The cavernous overhang is large.  Some of the columns have as many as 28 courses of bricks.  Each of the columns is square with each side the length of 2 bricks end to end.

Building the brick columns was quite an engineering feat.  If the columns are fully brick then almost 1,800 bricks would have been required.

Bushwalking author, Michael Keats, has called the construction 'The Porch Of The Caryatids' because it reminded him of an annex of the Parthenon in Greece.

In the late afternoon sun it is certainly a remarkable sight.
