Comments:

Kandos Weir on the Cudgegong River was built by the Kandos Cement Company in 1930 to supply water to the Kandos Cement Plant.

The Kandos Weir impoundment is known as Dunns Swamp.

The dam is operated and maintained by Cement Australia.  The company works closely with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service to ensure the valuable water resource is well managed.

As a result, Cement Australia has guaranteed a water supply for its own operations and created a unique environmental wonderland at Dunns Swamp.
