Glow Worm (Arachnocampa richardsae)

Glow Worms are the larvae of the larvae of the Fungus Gnat.

Most of a Fungus Gnat's life is spent as a Glow Worm, growing up to 3cm in length. The Glow Worms pupate and emerge as Fungus Gnats, breed and die.

Glow Worms are found in very sheltered caves and grottos in NSW.

Glow Worms are sensitive to light and will stop glowing when disturbed.

I used a very high ISO and very long exposures to photograph these Glow Worms in almost pitch black conditions.
