Feral Cat (Felis catus)

Feral Cats look much like domestic cats, generally having short fur, long tail & prominent whiskers.

Feral cats are found in almost all habitats in Australia.

Feral Cats have have contributed to the extinction of many mammals and birds. Unfortunately control programs are difficult to implement because cats need live prey. They can't be baited like foxes. Traps need to be checked daily to release any native predators inadvertently caught in the traps.
